Crunch Build: Wheels

A few lessons I learned from sourcing these parts:

  • If possible, wait for sales – WTB ran a 20% off EVERYTHING sale around Labor Day and even threw me a free bottle of tire sealant;
  • These online retailers that are excellent, despite their dubious names:
  • Backcountry.com will never take another cent from me. They peddle false product information, don’t own up to their mistakes, and charge return shipping even when they are at fault. I’ve had their sticker on my laptop for 9 years and I’m scratching it off tonight.
  • Yojimbo’s Garage no longer sells on ebay, but you can email the owner directly. He still offers the spokes you want, in custom lengths, at the best prices, with friendly service.
